New bachelor鈥檚 degree established to meet technology changes and growing industry needs

To meet the shifting demands in the technology marketplace, 快猫成版视频鈥檚 has launched a new bachelor鈥檚 degree program in computer engineering.

Computer engineering integrates several areas of electrical engineering and computer science to develop computer hardware, software, systems and applications. 快猫成版视频 State鈥檚 program, which begins fall 2017, is designed to align to rampant technology changes, modern industry needs and the growing job market.

鈥淭his is a great opportunity for 快猫成版视频 State to latch on the growth curve and best position our future graduates,鈥 said Hai Ho, associate professor and chair of the . 鈥淎nticipating what lies ahead, we need to keep up with advanced technology, be rigorous with our curriculum and meet the demands of industry.鈥 

The computer engineering curriculum includes embedded system development, controls and communications, electronics, sensors/actuators, the Internet of Things, software, and systems integration. This undergraduate program will prepare students with a diverse skillset to design and implement the 鈥渂rains鈥 of physical computer systems.

Computer engineers are in high demand and have a median salary of $115,080, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The College anticipates producing its first wave of graduates in spring 2019.
