Coles College Prize for FT-50 Journal Publication

This award will be given to those Coles College faculty (or faculty group) who publish in journals that are part of the . This list is commonly used to rank research at top-tier Business Schools. These faculty (or faculty group) will receive an award of $1,000 for each publication in journals included on the FT 50 list. Only publications that have a final acceptance date of 2017 and later will be deemed eligible. Further, work that faculty completed while being affiliated with KSU will only be deemed eligible. These winners will be featured in the Coles Research Magazine.

Faculty Community Engagement Award

The award aims to recognize and reward community engagement accomplishments through research or service. Applicants should demonstrate by providing evidence how their scholarly work or service has significantly impacted an external organization or society/community that resulted in notable improvements for an organization or industry with respect to processes, products, or services. The winners will have their research featured in the Coles Research Magazine.

Competitive Grant Award

This award is to recognize top-quality research completed by faculty to meet expectations of competitive grants received from esteemed organizations such as the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Health, Department of Homeland Security, professional organizations in a discipline such as The Institute of Internal Auditors, Institute of Management Accountants and so on. The winners will have their research featured in the
Coles Research Magazine.

Impact Publication Award

The Coles College Prize for Impact Publication is to acknowledge high quality research publications by Coles College of Business faculty that demonstrated a significant or potentially significant impact on organizations and/or professional or business practices. The award will consist of a cash prize as well as funds for support of the scholarship. The winners will have their research featured in the Coles Research Magazine. Outstanding Publication Award

The Coles College Prize for Outstanding Journal Publication is to acknowledge recent high-quality research publications by Coles College of Business faculty in top-tier journals. Coles College Distinguished Scholarship Award

Eligibility

Any full-time regular faculty member (lecturer, tenure-track, or tenured) with a minimum of 3 full and consecutive academic years at Coles College under contract as a regular faculty member at KSU prior to being nominated. Temporary faculty is not eligible and years under contract as a temporary faculty member do not count toward eligibility requirements.

  • Once a faculty member has received the distinguished scholarship award from Coles College, he or she will not be eligible for the same award from Coles College for five years.

Award Criteria

  • Consistent excellent performance as evidenced by the level of activity in and commitment to scholarship and/or creative activity; the quality of scholarship and/or creative activities; and the strength and depth of expertise.
  • Evidence of sustained leadership in the advancement of scholarship and/or creative activity that exhibits dissemination and adoption of one's scholarship and/or creative activity by others; mentoring other faculty and students; sharing expertise with others; and holding positions that recognize the nominee's scholarship and/or creative activity.
  • Impact and significance of scholarly and/or creative work as evidenced through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, performances, creative works, grants and contracts (i.e., the scholarship of discovery), citations by other professionals, and adoptions.
