Environmental and Occupational Safety Guidance & Recommendations

As part the University's Environmental and Occupational Safety Management System (EOSMS), 快猫成版视频 (KSU) has established a University Safety Council (USC) to provide guidance and recommendations on environmental and occupational safety (EOS) matters while ensuring effective participation by KSU employees at all levels of the organization.

The USC provides a University-level consultative forum and clearing house for common discussions and coordination of activities of the University's safety committees in all matters pertaining to safety on campus.

Safety Committees

The USC is comprised of safety committees representing academic colleges and administrative units across the campus who ensure effective participation in the EOSMS by KSU employees at various levels of the organization. The roles of Safety Committees include:

  • Help identify hazards and risks and possible control measures in University's operations and participate in the implementation of identified control measures.
  • Participate and provide input in safety inspections, job hazard analysis, incident investigation, procedure development and safety training development.
  • Listen and evaluate employees' safety suggestions and/or concerns and serve as a good example for safety.

Committee members consist of volunteers from the respective Colleges/Departments, with a representative from EHS participating in each committee to provide technical guidance.

USC representatives for each committee are commonly referred to as Safety Chairs. The responsibilities of a Safety Chair are to:

  • Help develop and implement the University's EOSMS.
  • Maintain an environment that is conducive to the safety, health, and well-being of the University community.
